Social media is on the rise, and the likelyhood of it slowing down is so far from happening is just isn't funny. Every day millions of new people join social networking sites, like Squidoo, Hubpages, and Twitter making these sites some of the more highly ranked sites on the internet.
In the past, the only sites that got this much traffic were Google and Yahoo. Who each had about 25% of all internet traffic per day (for %50 combinied).
By posting content that you publish on sites like Squidoo, then you too can take advantage of the massive amounts of traffic that these sites get every day. It may take a while to get your fair share of the traffic, but if you do not publish to these sites then you are simply not going to get any extra traffic.
Everyone worries about duplicate content. The truth is you only need to worry about duplicate content on your own sites. Heck, if a PR 9 site like squidoo gets me 1000 hits per day, what will I care if their page ranks higher in Google then my own. I won't.
The key is traffic. Having a page come up first in google only helps if it is a search term people are actually searching for. So forget about duplicate content and post your stuff all across the net. If you must worry about uniqueness (as it is still a good idea to keep the content fresh), just rewrite your material and then submit it.
